Mr. Mohammed Rudman, President of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA), who is also the CEO, Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN), is scheduled to chair the Nigeria Information Technology Reporters Association (NITRA) Technology Forum 2021 on Thursday, 27th May 2021, at the Citiheight  Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.

The discussions at the NITRA Technology Forum 2021 with the theme, ‘Achieving 30% Growth in Local Cloud Hosting by 2024’, will focus on growth, challenges and benefits of hosting cloud services and data centers locally, as well as policies and regulation around the industry.

Over the years, there have been challenges with the security of data locally and how to boost local content in all sectors of the economy. The key stakeholders are really concerned about how the sector is faring, and how it can achieve local hosting of Nigeria’s sensitive data. This was mentioned by NITRA Chairman, Mr. Chike Onwuegbuchi while commending the partners for their passion for the growth of Technology in Nigeria, and for their contributions towards the event.

The NITRA Chairman said the forum will offer cloud service companies, data infrastructure companies and other stakeholders the opportunities to reach out to their target market with solutions that address their needs and challenges. He also mentioned that through the Forum, stakeholders will have access to discuss current challenges affecting cloud businesses, policies that can facilitate growth and solutions.

It is expected that this event will be attended by stakeholders in the cloud hosting services and data centre industry. Among the stakeholders are the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Cloud Services Operator, Cloudflex, and Premier data center operator, Rackcenter.
